Desert Diwata is an organization I lead and design for alongside a few friends and peers. The intent of the organization is to advocate and provide a safe space through art, storytelling, and community engagement. We focus predominately on creating events and opportunities for Asians to learn more of their stories and express themselves accordingly.

The logo draws the connection between the sun of our home in Arizona and the diwata’s (Tagalog for “fairy”) gentle affinity to nature. The coinciding suns rising from a horizon show Desert Diwata’s goals of building a future and open community for Asian Americans and Pacific Islander creatives.
